Hive Group is seeking a Full-Stack Developer to join our Business Intelligence team. The Full-Stack Developer designs, builds, and maintains secure, modular web applications and data-driven features that power analytics, dashboards, and operational tools across the organization. They will work end-to-end, integrating APIs, optimizing performance, and ensuring accessibility and reliability of production products. The ideal candidate is forward-thinking, detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and takes ownership of shipping high-quality software.
This position will be fully remote but candidates must have the ability to travel into the main office upon request. Local candidates to the Washington, DC metropolitan area (DMV) are preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates ownership and accountability, sets clear goals, drives outcomes, communicates proactively, and upholds delivery standards with interest and capacity to take on broader team and task leadership as opportunities arise.
- Translates mission needs into productized solutions by running discovery with federal stakeholders, converting objectives into requirements and technical roadmaps, and shipping intuitive, data-driven apps and dashboards.
- Productize and reuse solutions by packaging apps, components, templates, and patterns for reuse across contracts and contributing to an internal "toolbox" of AI- and automation-enabled solutions
- Advances governance and organizational maturity by informing and contributing to data standards for integrity, security, documentation, and change management.
- Drive agile, iterative delivery by quickly shipping MVPs, then refining and enhancing based on stakeholder feedback to work towards a user-centered product.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience delivering business intelligence, data analytics, or automation solutions within federal or commercial environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data/Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business/Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience automating workflows and building lightweight UIs using Java or JavaScript/TypeScript, integrating APIs, and deploying secure, modular web apps in SaaS environments. Demonstrated ability to adapt patterns across stacks and willingness to learn Google App Scripts a strong plus.
- Understanding of SQL and data modeling, with the ability to design efficient, scalable data structures that support both Tableau dashboards and GAS web apps.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and ideally, CI/CD for scripting or serverless platforms (e.g. CLASP, VS Code, GitHub).
- Experience with Databricks for building, deploying, sharing, and maintaining enterprise-level data, analytics, and AI solutions at scale, or exposure to similar platforms (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Spark).
- Any tech-stack related certifications are a plus.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and are required to pass a criminal background check.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated compensation range for this position is between $120,000 and $130,000 annually, based on benchmarks in the Washington, D.C. area. This range reflects a good faith estimate for all experience levels. At Hive Group, salary decisions are influenced by several factors, including but not limited to the role, location, and the combination of education, training, skills, certifications, competencies, and relevant work experience.
