STRUCTURAL WELDER Houston, Texas 77051

PAY RANGE: $25 - $33.00 No per diem/local work.

HOURS: 60+ PER WEEK

DURATION: VERY LONG TERM (12+ MONTHS)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Structural Welder is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Proficient in assigned welding techniques.

* Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including the ability to read weld symbols.

* Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys.

* Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)

* Conventional and precision measuring instruments.

* Process inspection, certification, and documentation.

* Welding equipment maintenance and inspection.

* Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.

* Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

JOB SKILLS

* Ability to read blueprints

* Proficient with the welding process

* Ability to fill out inspection forms
