NPI Engineer | Kentwood, MI
Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with R&D to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes for new products.
- Define, procure, and qualify necessary tooling, fixtures, and equipment for production.
- Lead pilot production runs and support initial production ramp-up activities.
- Manage and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing work instructions.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for new product introduction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for NPI processes and product launches.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- 3-5+ years of experience in a New Product Introduction (NPI) or Manufacturing Engineering role.
- Demonstrated expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, SMT, assembly) relevant to product type.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams and drive products from concept to mass production.
Bonus Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Proficiency with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, CFD).
- Experience with international manufacturing site transfers or global NPI projects.
- Scripting or programming skills for data analysis and automation (e.g., Python, VBA).
