Job Title: Avionics Technician
Job Description
This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced Avionics Technicians who want to work on advanced helicopter platforms within a retrofit program. You will perform complex installation, modification, and troubleshooting tasks on LUH-72, H-125, and H-145 aircraft, ensuring that avionics systems and wiring harnesses are installed, integrated, and functioning to high technical standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform avionics installation and modification work on LUH-72, H-125, and H-145 aircraft within a retrofit program.
- Install, route, and secure avionics wiring harnesses and associated components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Integrate, configure, and troubleshoot avionics systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with technical requirements.
- Carry out heavy modification and installation tasks on aircraft, including complex system upgrades and reconfigurations.
- Work with avionics systems on platforms such as EC-145, EC-135, LUH-72, UH-60, and AH-64, as applicable to project needs.
- Interpret technical documentation, schematics, and STCs (Supplemental Type Certificates) to guide installation and modification work.
- Diagnose and resolve avionics issues, using appropriate test equipment and methods to verify system performance.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineering staff to ensure accurate, timely completion of retrofit and modification activities.
- Follow all hangar and completion center procedures, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cleanliness in the work area.
- Document work performed in accordance with applicable processes and support continuous improvement of installation and modification practices.
Essential Skills
- Avionics installation and modification experience is required.
- Level I: 6–14 years of avionics experience focused on installation and modification.
- Level II: 15+ years of avionics experience focused on installation and modification.
- Proven ability to perform heavy avionics modification and installation on aircraft.
- Hands-on experience working with avionics systems and wiring harnesses.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for avionics systems and related components.
- Experience in rotary-wing aircraft environments is preferred, with strong skills in modification and installation.
- Candidates with fixed-wing experience are considered if they demonstrate strong avionics installation and modification capabilities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, MS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
