Job DescriptionDescription:

Install, configure, update, maintain, and upgrade IT systems in accordance with existing procedures, best practice, and verbal or written instructions. Support major and minor IT projects. Provide support to end users. Diagnose, repair, and maintain hardware and software components. Follow written and verbal instructions. Comply with Company and IT department network, cyber, and compliance policies.

Requirements:

Install, configure, update, maintain, and upgrade IT systems:

  • Install, issue, return, or refresh users new or returning devices in accordance with standard on-boarding and off-boarding procedures
  • Perform physical repair of devices
  • Reset, refresh, or reimage devices
  • Update software and virus definitions on end workstations or servers
  • Update various Operating Systems on end workstations or servers; i.e. Windows Server 2016, Windows 10 Pro, Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu 18.x, Ubuntu 22.x, and others as needed
  • Install standard configuration software and tools to end workstations or servers.

Support major and minor IT projects:

  • Support the researching, planning, implementation, configuration, or testing of upgrades or IT projects under guidance of the SR. Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or Senior IT department member.
  • Coordinate with personnel from every department to ensure projects hold maximum gain with minimal unexpected impact to productivity or profitability.


Provide support to end users:


  • Monitor, track, and respond to users’ IT trouble tickets via Help Desk portal and written correspondence.
  • Communicate and document indications, troubleshooting, cause, and corrective actions.
  • Escalate or redirect users’ trouble tickets to other positions or departments as appropriate.
  • Provide end user support for unplanned outages or planned upgrades during and after business hours as scheduled / directed.

Diagnose, repair, and maintain hardware and software components:


  • Following best practice, troubleshooting methods, OSI models and methods, and TCP/IP models and methods; identify failed hardware, software, or system
  • Define and implement corrective action for failures
  • Submit order requests for necessary components or replacement parts
  • Document status of systems in IT asset management systems.

Security and Compliance:


  • Comply with all Security and Compliance procedures and documentation as required.
  • Report and document any Security and Compliance concerns or issues as directed.

Collaboration and Communication:


  • Work closely with other ASCC team members to ensure seamless transitions from legacy to new devices and workstations as applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with the SR. Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or Senior IT department member.
  • Provide employee feedback by senior leadership / HR as required.


Key Responsibilities: (Secondary)


Network Infrastructure Management:


  • Assist and support the Network Administrator with upgrades and management of network equipment (e.g. routers, switches, access points.) as required.
  • Support the Network Administrator troubleshooting as required.


Security and Compliance:

  • Assist and support the Network Administrator with all security and compliance initiatives and implementations as required.

Disaster Recovery and Backup:

  • Support the testing and validation efforts of the Network Administration for disaster recovery procedures periodically.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with managers and leadership regarding device refresh and replacement projects and issues as required.

Qualifications:


•1 year experience in commercial networks, business networks, and systems preferred


•High-School diploma or equivalent


•Vocational, Technical, or Trade school education in IT, Computer Science, or other related fields a plus


•CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or other IT related certifications from recognized accreditors a plus.



Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time entry-level to level I position consisting of a hybrid work schedule requiring a minimum of two days in the office (Mondays and Thursdays) per week. In office requirements supersede stay at home offering.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required for maintenance and emergencies.
  • The IT Systems Technician may be required to participate in IT systems on-call support rotations.
