Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Property Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for a residential rental portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate tenant and owner accounting across the full property lifecycle and works closely with operations teams in a fast-paced environment.
This position is ideal for someone with property management accounting experience who enjoys transactional accounting, organization, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Handle tenant accounting across the full lifecycle, including move-ins, move-outs, security deposits, late fees, NSFs, and billbacks
- Post rent payments, refunds, and maintenance chargebacks
- Process accounts payable including HOA payments, maintenance invoices, eviction fees, and miscellaneous expenses
- Perform monthly trust account bank reconciliations
- Process owner transactions including contributions, distributions, and monthly statements
- Support month-end close activities and financial statement review
- Communicate regularly with operations teams to resolve accounting issues
- Assist with new property onboarding, acquisitions, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- 2+ years of property management or real estate accounting experience
- Experience with property management software such as AppFolio or Yardi preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high transaction volumes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Preferred Experience
- Residential rental or property management environment
- AppFolio, Yardi, Rent Manager, or Propertyware
- Trust accounting or tenant/owner accounting

Pay Details: $28.00 to $31.25 per hour
