Job Description
As a Security Officer - Power Plant Patrol Driver in Livermore, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a utilities location, you will conduct routine mobile patrols, perform visible presence checks, and document security-related activity to help reduce incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license under AU Driver Policy requirements. You will communicate clearly with site teams and visitors, provide customer-focused assistance, and support an agile, reliable, and integrity-driven operation through teamwork and innovation.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients at a utility location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site contacts and/or public responders as directed by post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, yards, substations and perimeter areas to help to identify unusual conditions, unauthorized activity and/or hazards to operations.
- Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, logging visitors and contractors, issuing temporary access credentials when directed and/or maintaining key and badge accountability.
- Perform vehicle patrols and/or foot patrols, checking gates, doors, fencing, lighting and equipment areas for signs of damage, tampering and/or suspicious activity.
- Monitor radio traffic, telephone calls and/or security-related systems as assigned, documenting observations and reporting issues according to site procedures.
- Complete daily activity logs, incident reports and other required documentation in a clear, accurate and timely manner.
- Support utility operations during outages, restoration work and/or scheduled maintenance by managing traffic flow, establishing controlled perimeters and coordinating with site personnel as directed.
- Provide directions and assistance to employees, contractors and visitors, communicating professionally and de-escalating conflicts when appropriate.
- Follow Allied Universal and site policies regarding appearance, conduct, communication and confidentiality while working varying environments and conditions by client site.
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
- Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
- A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
