CNC Milling Machinist Responsibilities:
- Sets up, programs, and operates CNC machines (Computer numerical control) i.e. Mills and Lathes.
- Installs work holding as well as tooling necessary to complete job.
- Sets work and tooling offsets
- Plans and performs a variety of machining operations.
- Interprets mechanical drawings to dictate work to be completed as well as producing parts to desired specifications.
- Reviews process sheets and specifications to determine order of operations and dimensions of finished work piece.
- Detects malfunctions and corrects issues by changing worn tools and wear offsets.
- Performs a variety of inspection and gauging operations.
- Shows proficiency in use of gaging tools such as micrometers, height stand, calipers, gage pins, profilometer, drop indicator, and optical comparator.
CNC Machinist Requirements:
- 3 years of CNC Setup/Operation experience
- 1 year Metrology (using measuring tools)
- Knowledge of tooling and CNC tooling
- Experience machining of Stainless steel as well as other high temperature alloys.
- CAM experience a plus
- Attention to detail
- Basic Math skills
- High School diploma
