About the Role:
The MES Lead plays a critical role in overseeing the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance within the manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of MES processes that support production efficiency and quality standards. The MES Lead collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including IT, production, quality assurance, and vendors to align system capabilities with business objectives. A key outcome of this role is to drive process optimization and root cause analysis efforts that minimize downtime and enhance system reliability. Ultimately, the MES Lead ensures that all MES-related activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal standards, contributing to the overall success of manufacturing operations in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in technical documentation and validation documentation specific to MES.
- Strong experience with document management systems and stakeholder reporting.
- Demonstrated ability in project planning, vendor coordination, and system performance evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certification in MES platforms or related manufacturing IT systems.
- Experience with process optimization methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards relevant to manufacturing (e.g., FDA, ISO).
- Previous leadership experience managing cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools and techniques applied in manufacturing IT systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and management of MES projects, ensuring alignment with manufacturing goals and timelines.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical and validation documentation to support MES functionality and compliance.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to manage system upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve MES-related issues impacting production.
- Generate detailed reports for stakeholders to communicate system status, project progress, and performance metrics.
- Optimize MES processes by identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements within manufacturing workflows.
- Ensure adherence to document management protocols and regulatory standards throughout all MES activities.
Skills:
The MES Lead utilizes technical documentation skills daily to create and maintain clear, detailed records that support system validation and compliance. Document management system expertise ensures that all MES-related documents are organized, accessible, and up to date, facilitating smooth audits and reviews. Validation documentation skills are critical for verifying that MES implementations meet required standards and function as intended. Stakeholder reporting and vendor coordination skills enable effective communication and collaboration, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout project lifecycles.
