DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
DHS is seeking a detail-oriented, articulate, and friendly Project Coordinator to support the growing Rural Health Transformation Program.
The individual in this role must be a strong communicator who is responsive to changing circumstances and able to work effectively with people from a variety of professional and lived experiences. This is a public-facing role that will interact with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
The Rural Health Transformation Program is a federal funding initiative through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). DHS received a first-year award of $203,670,005 to support rural healthcare capacity, sustainability, and innovation across three major initiatives:
- Strengthening the rural healthcare workforce
- Driving rural technology and innovation
- Transforming rural care through partnerships
The Project Coordinator will support program operations through coordination, communication, and administrative execution. Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling meetings involving public and external partners
- Managing calendars for Program Director and Deputy Director
- Coordinating onboarding for new workforce members
- Preparing for and supporting meetings, including documentation
- Taking meeting minutes
- Maintaining decision and action logs
- Sending email communications and memorandums
- Monitoring program inbox
- Tracking assignments and project tasks
This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured program environment.
