DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

DHS is seeking a detail-oriented, articulate, and friendly Project Coordinator to support the growing Rural Health Transformation Program.

The individual in this role must be a strong communicator who is responsive to changing circumstances and able to work effectively with people from a variety of professional and lived experiences. This is a public-facing role that will interact with both internal stakeholders and external partners.

The Rural Health Transformation Program is a federal funding initiative through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). DHS received a first-year award of $203,670,005 to support rural healthcare capacity, sustainability, and innovation across three major initiatives:

  • Strengthening the rural healthcare workforce
  • Driving rural technology and innovation
  • Transforming rural care through partnerships

The Project Coordinator will support program operations through coordination, communication, and administrative execution. Responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling meetings involving public and external partners
  • Managing calendars for Program Director and Deputy Director
  • Coordinating onboarding for new workforce members
  • Preparing for and supporting meetings, including documentation
  • Taking meeting minutes
  • Maintaining decision and action logs
  • Sending email communications and memorandums
  • Monitoring program inbox
  • Tracking assignments and project tasks

This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured program environment.
