Job Description
General Cleaner
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Status: Full time, Part time, non-exempt
Purpose: General cleaner to perform a variety of cleaning duties. The cleaner will be responsible for all aspects of cleaning at the Bethel, including lawn care and snow removal.
Essential Functions:
- Dusting and cleaning of surface areas and counter surfaces
- Performs general sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping of floors
- Vacuums and cleans carpets, performs further treatments such as shampoo or stain removal as needed
- Disposing of trash from bins and containers
- Polishing furniture and room accessories as needed
- Scrubbing sinks, basins, and toilets in bathrooms
- Cleaning windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
- Maintaining and upkeep of all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products
- Ensuring safe and sanitary storage and care of products
- Reporting repairs and replacements needed when encountered on the job
- Perform other duties consistent with the job description as assigned by the supervisor
Other requirements:
- Ability to follow verbal directions
- Reliable and punctual with dedicated professionalism to the job and duties
- Pays attention to detail when cleaning
- Organized and able to follow a schedule
- Must be physically able to stretch, walk, stoop, reach, use ladders, and carry up to 50 pounds in performance of job duties.
- General knowledge of cleaning products, supplies, and techniques for cleaning
- Able to work weekends and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be willing and able to pass a background check
