Field Diesel Powertrain Service Specialist
Job Description
Job DescriptionAbout DEUTZ
DEUTZ engineers, builds, and supports advanced diesel, gas, and electric drive systems for professional applications spanning construction, agriculture, material handling, stationary equipment, commercial and rail vehicles, and more.
A day in this role
You start your morning reviewing the DEUTZ Service ticketing system, planning methods and the sequence of work for the day. Parts are pre-ordered so your service vehicle is stocked for first-call completions and local parts sales. You head on-site to a customer location, diagnose a Tier 4 diesel powertrain with portable diagnostic tools, and carry out manufacturer-specified repairs. You communicate clearly with the customer, document work in Fieldaware, and coordinate with the Service Supervisor, Parts Department, New Engine Sales, and Engineering/Warranty to ensure accuracy and approvals. Before leaving, you verify cosmetic finish, return any unused parts per DEUTZ Power Center guidelines, and update time sheets. The afternoon wraps with another field call on non-DEUTZ construction equipment within the Power Center territory and, back at the shop, you help keep the space clean and organized to present the right image.
