Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Pure Storage Resident Architect / Engineer to serve as the primary technical authority for its Pure Storage environment. This individual will be responsible for architecture, engineering, operational support, performance optimization, and strategic roadmap planning across both Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade platforms.
The consultant will work closely with infrastructure, platform, and application teams to support mission-critical workloads, modern data protection strategies, AI/ML initiatives, analytics platforms, and enterprise storage operations.
Key Responsibilities
Storage Architecture & Design
- Architect and design Pure FlashArray block storage solutions supporting databases, VMware, and business-critical applications.
- Design and optimize Pure FlashBlade file and object storage environments supporting AI/ML workloads, backup platforms, and high-performance analytics.
- Lead storage capacity planning, performance analysis, and future-state technology roadmaps.
- Develop and implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies utilizing:
- ActiveDR
- ActiveCluster
- SafeMode
- Design and support storage integrations across:
- Fibre Channel (FC)
- iSCSI
- NVMe-over-Fabrics (NVMe-oF)
- NFS
- SMB
- S3/Object Storage
Engineering & Operations
- Perform day-to-day administration, monitoring, and proactive health assessments of Pure Storage environments.
- Utilize Pure1 analytics and reporting to provide operational insights and executive-level reporting.
- Execute:
- Data migrations
- Storage consolidations
- Evergreen non-disruptive upgrades
- Troubleshoot hardware, Purity OS, SAN fabric, and performance-related issues end-to-end.
- Develop automation solutions using:
- Pure Storage REST APIs
- Python
- PowerShell
- Bash
- Serve as the escalation point between RBC and Pure Storage TAC/Engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of enterprise storage engineering and administration experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with Pure Storage FlashArray and/or FlashBlade platforms.
- Deep expertise with:
- FlashArray architecture
- FlashBlade architecture
- Purity Operating Environment
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage networking:
- Fibre Channel SAN
- iSCSI
- NVMe-oF
- NFS
- S3/Object Storage
- Experience with data protection technologies including:
- Veeam
- Commvault
- Pure Storage snapshots and replication technologies
- Scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, and/or Bash.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting AI/ML and high-performance data environments, including:
- GPU clusters
- Kafka
- Spark
- Splunk
- VMware vSphere administration and storage integration experience.
- Kubernetes storage integration experience (CSI).
- Hybrid cloud storage architecture and integrations.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Pure1 Analytics
- Evergreen//One
- Evergreen//Forever
- ITIL Foundation Certification (v3 or v4).
- Financial Services, Banking, or other highly regulated industry experience.
Preferred Pure Storage Certifications
One or more of the following certifications strongly preferred:
- Pure Storage FlashArray Implementation Specialist
