Picture This
It’s 3:00pm in Richmond, Illinois. You power up your CNC mill, review blueprints, and rig the first workpiece with an overhead crane. You fine-tune offsets to chase the perfect finish, record your checks, and partner with programming and tooling support to keep parts flowing. By 1:30am, every component matches spec—and your area is spotless. Training? You’ll get it on 2nd shift, shoulder-to-shoulder with experienced machinists.
Your Mission
- Own CNC milling operations end-to-end: set up, run, and adjust tool/work offsets as needed.
- Assemble milling cutters to holders; replace/index inserts to sustain performance.
- Load and unload parts using an overhead crane with a safety-first mindset.
- Validate each part meets order specifications and quality criteria; complete all required documentation.
- Partner with programming, tooling, and maintenance teams to resolve issues quickly.
- Keep the workstation neat, organized, and audit-ready.
- Support teammates with a positive, can-do approach.
Schedule
2nd shift, Monday–Thursday, 3:00pm–1:30am. Training occurs on 2nd shift. Expect overtime opportunities when needed.
What It Takes
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC, etc.).
- Understanding of machining fundamentals—feeds, speeds, and chip load—and proficiency with CNC tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret production drawings/engineering blueprints.
- Confidence with measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to work onsite in Richmond, Illinois on 2nd shift; open to overtime.
