Electronic Innovations, Inc., an established Industrial Security Systems Company based in Richmond, CA and servicing areas throughout the Bay Area and Sacramento, is looking for qualified candidates to become a key member of the Electronic Innovations Service Department. A leader in gates, access control and anti-terrorism having served the Bay Area for over 45 years, our focus on employees and clients has been the cornerstone of our success.
We’re hiring a Service Technician with experience troubleshooting and repairing automatic gates, operators, telephone entry systems, and vehicle barriers. The ideal candidate has low-voltage electrical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail when writing service reports and estimates.
Responsibilities:
· Diagnose, service, and maintain automatic gates, operators, barricades, and barrier arms.
· Install, program, and repair telephone entry and access control systems.
· Perform preventive maintenance and field testing on low-voltage systems.
· Ensure all work complies with UL325 and ASTM F2200 safety standards.
· Write accurate service tickets, work orders, and cost estimates.
· Deliver excellent customer service and professional onsite communication.
Requirements:
· 3+ years’ experience with gate operators or access control systems.
· Solid understanding of low-voltage wiring and electrical controls.
· Knowledge of UL325 and ASTM F2200 standards.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred:
· Experience with DoorKing, HySecurity, LiftMaster, or FAAC equipment.
· Technical certifications in access control or gate automation.
Security Systems Field Service Technicians are a vital part of EI using existing skills and learning new skills to provide diagnosis and repair services for:
- automatic gates
- telephone entry systems
- commercial and residential Card Access Systems
- CCTV / Camera System
- low voltage installations
Because you are bringing the EI experience to the job site, it is important that you have customer service skills with the ability to assist our customers with professional support and education on the use and care of their system.
You should have the following abilities:
- intermediate electrical knowledge
- intermediate technical aptitude (computer skills)
- verbal and written communication skills )
SKILLS
You should have experience in five or more of the following areas:
- low voltage relay logic
- basic electrical theory
- knowledge of electrical code requirements
- conduit wire installation
- welding and metal fabrication
- gears
- pulleys
- chains
- hydraulics
- construction skills

You should have a valid California driver's license, the ability to obtain secure access cards (TWIC, OSCA, etc) and pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening, and Social Security Number validation.
