Position Overview

We are seeking a SolidWorks Drafter to support our engineering and production teams by creating accurate 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings. This role is ideal for someone with solid foundational CAD skills who is detail‐oriented, organized, and ready to grow. You will translate concepts, measurements, and engineering direction into clear, production‐ready documentation. It is advantageous to have a background in Automotive and/or Off-Road and Fabrication.


Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D part and assembly models using SolidWorks

• Create detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawings with proper dimensions and notes

• Revise and update existing models and drawings as needed

• Work closely with engineers and production staff to ensure drawings reflect real‐world requirements

• Maintain organized file structures, revision control, and documentation standards

• Generate DXF or other export files for manufacturing processes

• Assist with basic design tasks under guidance from senior team members

• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all drawings


Required Skills & Qualities

• Proficiency in SolidWorks (education, training, or practical experience)

• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Reliable, organized, and committed to quality work

• Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

• US Citizenship (and proof thereof) is required.


Preferred (but not required)

• Experience with sheet metal modeling

• Surface Modeling

• Reverse Engineering

• Experience with Tools, changing tires, loading vehicles, installing suspension systems, 3D modeling, lifts, gearing, etc.

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (laser cutting, machining, welding, etc.)

• Understanding of tolerances, weld symbols, and drafting standards

• Exposure to product development or engineering workflows

This position starts as a part-time contractor working remotely. This will turn into an on-site position (2-4 days a week). For the right candidate, this will evolve into a full-time employee.
