Key Qualifications:

• Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special Education and General Education Endorsements appropriate for Pre-K age groups
• Previous experience working with children ages 3-5, specifically in a special education setting
• Strong understanding of developmental milestones and individualized instruction
• Comfort assisting students with toileting, diapering, feeding, and behavior intervention
• Creative, patient, and dedicated to providing a welcoming classroom atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction for a diverse caseload of Pre-K students with varying levels of need, often non-verbal or minimally verbal
• Implement and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), closely tracking student progress and adjusting teaching methods as required
• Support students through essential life skills, including toilet training, feeding, and positive behavior strategies
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to ensure consistency and progress
• Cultivate a safe, encouraging environment that fosters independence and communication

Position Details:

• Full-time contract (37.5 hours per week)
• Assignment extends through May 21, 2027
• Work in a collaborative team within a supportive elementary school setting
