Pay Range: $20.55 - $22.25 / hour

Dates of Camp: Regular Camp session is Monday, June 8, 2026 - Friday, August 7, 2026. Additional work available through Wednesday, August 12, 2026 for Post Camp.

The Job: Are you a great role model and love interacting with kids? If so, this might be the role for you! As a Camp Counselor you will be responsible for engaging and supervising children ranging from 4-12 years old. Camp Counselors are role models, who are responsible for creating a welcoming and safe environment for campers to grow and learn, and lead activities that are fun, exciting, and intentional through our camp values.

The Core Duties:

  • Supervise an assigned group of campers during the camp day to ensure the safety and well-being of each camper
  • Be a role model to campers and staff by maintaining a positive attitude when interacting with campers, other staff, and camp families and set a good example to campers and others in regard to general camp procedures and practices including sanitation, schedule and sportsmanship
  • Lead and co-lead a variety of camp value-based camp activities for your camper group, including but not limited to: arts and crafts, sports, stem projects, water play and swimming, classic camp games, and teambuilding
  • Participate enthusiastically and lead your group in elements of Chavurah (morning song session), L’hitraot (afternoon song session and gratitude), and Shabbat


The Essentials:

  • At least 18 Years of age + High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience working with youth in a camp or other recreational setting
  • Maintain a positive attitude in complex situations after working long hours
  • Adjust quickly to changes with open mind and flexibility
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations
  • Ability to meaningfully engage with all age levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate information clearly (both written and oral)
  • Ability to make sound independent judgment and decisions when circumstances arise
  • Positive, upbeat and enthusiastic about working with children
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse group that includes OFJCC staff, parents, children and the public
  • Certified in CPR for Children and Adults (or ability to obtain certification upon employment)
  • Current driver’s license and ability to drive a camp vehicle if necessary
