Civil Litigation Associate Attorney
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Compensation: Up to $155,000 base salary (DOE)
About the Opportunity
Our client, a well‑established Los Angeles civil litigation firm, is seeking a talented Litigation Associate with 1–3 years of experience to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney looking to gain substantial hands-on experience across all phases of litigation while working alongside seasoned trial attorneys.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to build a long-term career in civil litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle cases across various areas of civil litigation, including commercial disputes, real estate litigation, business torts, professional liability, and general liability matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic recommendations to supervising attorneys.
- Participate in and take depositions, court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences (based on experience).
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist in trial preparation, including exhibit and witness organization.
- Maintain accurate case files and ensure deadlines are met.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active California Bar membership in good standing.
- 1–3 years of civil litigation experience (law firm experience strongly preferred).
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication and organizational skills.
