For over 30 years, Sentinel Offender Services has provided community-based, offender-funded monitoring services across North America. Working with law enforcement, community corrections agencies and the court system, we provide customized offender management solutions that help to reduce recidivism and improve reentry success. These solutions combine electronic monitoring technology, alcohol and substance abuse testing, and community-based offender management programs.
Pay: $17.25/hr
Schedule: Friday – Tuesday / 9:00am – 6:00pm
Definition
The Field Technician provides a service to Greenville County assisting the Sentinel Greenville Office with proper equipment installation, equipment maintenance, cleaning of equipment, return of damaged equipment to the warehouse, weekly, monthly inventory and handling daily jail releases.
Jail Releases
· Prepares bags for jail releases.
· Responsible for assigning and enrolling the correct equipment into DNA and or SCRAMnet for participants enrolling in the program.
· Verify that equipment is working properly by checking for the Good Hook Up messages needed in DNA.
· Checks for victim zones on the referrals and enters them in DNA prior to releasing a participant. Any participant with court ordered victims for which Sentinel has not been provided victim address will not be released until the needed information is received.
· Adds all needed zones to the DNA profile prior to installing the device.
· Assigns the correct profile to ensure that proper notification is sent to the agency.
· Drug test participants needing to be drug tested prior to release.
· Instructs jail releases to report to their designated residences upon release from jail and not leave until they report to the Sentinel office for orientation.
· Installs the equipment on jail releases and verifies that equipment is secure on participant ankle. Completes a field contact.
· Gives a brief orientation of what will be needed for the equipment.
· Has the participant sign needed documents.
Walk In Installs
· Prepares equipment and enrolls the participants in DNA or SCRAMnet.
· Assigs and installs the correct equipment to participants enrolling in the program.
· Verify that equipment is working properly by checking for the Good Hook Up messages needed in DNA.
· Checks for victim zones on the referrals and enters them in DNA. Immediately direct any questions on Victims zones to the Branch Manager or Court Liaison.
· Adds all needed zones to the DNA profile prior to installing the device.
· Assigns the correct profile to ensure that proper notification is sent to the agency.
· Drug test participants needing to be drug tested at enrollment.
· Installs the equipment and verifies that equipment is secure on participant ankle. Completes a field contact.
· Gives a brief orientation of what will be needed for the equipment.
· Notifies the assigned case manager when the participant is ready for program orientation.
Drug Testing
· Makes himself available to conduct drug tests needed for participants.
· Follows standard protocol for taking a sample and provides the case manager with the results for the file.
· When a result is positive, he engages the case manager and branch manager for confirmation but makes sure that the sample is always in sight of the participant.
· Labels all samples accordingly.
· Cleans after himself by making sure that no sample cups are left on the table at the end of the day.
Equipment Maintenance
· Makes himself available for case managers to conduct maintenance on equipment.
· Reviews the activity reports to assess what might be the reason for the equipment maintenance needed.
· Notifies case manager when maintenance has been completed for the case manager to verify that the participant is set to leave the office.
· Completes a field contact for every equipment maintenance and logs it on the Device Maintenance Log in SharePoint.
· Cleans equipment daily and places it back on Shelf or RMA box.
· Places equipment in RMA box with a label with reason for the return.
Equipment Inventory
· Keeps shelf for equipment nicely organized and labeled.
· Cleans equipment being returned DAILY and places it back on labeled shelf.
· Weekly completes a manual count of equipment available to place orders for needed equipment and consumables.
· Picks up equipment from the jail twice a week and reviews the retrieval dashboard to mark the devices as retrieved.
· Completes an RMA twice a week or as soon as there are more than 8 devices in the RMA box.
· Monthly, by the 15th of the month completes the inventory reconciliation and uploads to SharePoint to ensure that all devices are accounted for.
Retrieval Dashboard (applicable to the retrieval tech or tech assisting to cover the position for the day)
· Daily reviews the Retrieval Dashboard to make calls and retrieval attempts to have pending devices returned to the office. Add comments to document his attempts.
· Every time equipment is recovered from the jail, prior to placing them back on shelf, he must log in and update the retrieval dashboard to note that it is back in the office. MARK AS RETRIEVED.
· Reviews the Dashboard for any device that is in tamper status to attempt recovery prior to battery depletion.
· Updates the Retrieval Attempt Log in SharePoint for all field attempts made.
· Submits mileage through Concur weekly and includes the participant's name or device serial number as the business purpose for all field recovery attempts.
· Takes the field tech device to all field recovery attempts made.
Weekend Responsibilities (applicable to tech covering the weekend shift)
· Jail Releases-completes items listed above under Jail Releases.
· Equipment Inventory- completed items pending from those listed above under Equipment Inventory.
· Retrieval Dashboard-complete items pending from those listed above under Retrieval Dashboard.
· Completes tasks assigned by the Branch Manager.
General Office Needs
· Take file boxes to the storage unit and assist with the organization of the storage unit.
· When needed, assist with filing participant documents and scanning files.
· Weekly take the trash bins to the curve for a scheduled pick-up.
· Check on the parking lot as needed to ensure participants are not parking in unauthorized areas.
· Change the water jugs for the water coolers.
· Assist with coverage of the front desk.
· Assist with breaking down of completed participant files.
