We are seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join a respected public accounting firm serving privately held businesses, business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals. This opportunity is ideal for a tax professional with 3–5 years of public accounting experience and a strong background in tax preparation, compliance, planning, and client service.
The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with clients, handling a variety of business and individual tax engagements, and collaborating with experienced accountants and firm partners. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and S corporations
- Prepare complex individual income tax returns for business owners, executives, and high-net-worth individuals
- Research tax regulations and assist with tax planning and advisory strategies
- Identify potential tax-saving opportunities and support year-round planning initiatives
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide tax guidance
- Monitor changes in tax laws and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements
- Collaborate with senior accountants and firm partners on client engagements
- Assist with consulting projects, special tax assignments, and other advisory services
- Maintain accurate workpapers and documentation while meeting client deadlines
Requirements
- 3–5 years of public accounting experience, with a primary focus on tax
- Strong experience with tax preparation and compliance
- Experience preparing business entity and complex individual tax returns
- Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- CPA license or CPA candidacy preferred, but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment
- Willingness to periodically work from the Allentown, PA office
