  • Oversee design quality and technical output on MEP projects from planning through construction support.

  • Review system designs, perform QA/QC, and ensure work meets all applicable codes, standards, and client expectations.

Department Operations

  • Manage staffing plans, departmental budgets, schedules, and operational performance metrics.

  • Produce regular updates on project status, workload forecasting, and department performance.

Client & Business Development

  • Cultivate new client relationships while strengthening existing partnerships within the public and private sectors.

  • Lead or support proposal preparation, presentations, and contract negotiations for MEP opportunities.

Technical Guidance

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design questions and engineering decisions.

  • Promote best practices, standardization, and integration of new technologies across the department.

Team Development & Mentorship

  • Coach and develop staff engineers, encouraging professional growth, training, and licensure.

  • Build a culture that values continuous learning, collaboration, and high-quality workmanship.

Continuous Improvement

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance design efficiency and service offerings.

  • Implement process improvements that elevate quality, productivity, and client satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong track record of identifying, pursuing, and winning new work.

  • Extensive understanding of building codes, industry standards, and multidisciplinary engineering practices.

  • Exceptional communication skills, including client presentations and internal coordination.

  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, able to review reports, track performance, and set business objectives.

  • Proficiency with MEP design tools, engineering software, and project management systems (knowledge of Deltek Vision is a plus).

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a closely related discipline).

  • Minimum of 10 years of MEP engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or department lead role.
