Job Description:


The System Administrator position will report to the MCRTAMS Technical Lead and will work alongside the System Engineer to support, enhance, modernize, and maintain the existing MCRTAMS application and environment. The common tasks for this position will include deploying software patches and upgrades, monitoring and verifying system backups, troubleshooting software and hardware problems, ensuring that MCRTAMS maintains its appropriate information assurance (IA) security posture, and supporting users in the RTAM office. The position will also provide the candidate the opportunity to enhance their technical skills by playing a significant, hands on role in the development and roll-out of the next generation of MCRTAMS infrastructure which includes new servers, storage, and switches.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide overall program management to include: assisting in project planning, risk mitigation, requirements determination, quality assurance, staff services, and customer support for Ranges IT systems.
  • Act as the single point of contact for management of tasks, subtasks and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain required system Information Assurance (IA), Authority to Operate (ATO) and Authority to Connect (ATC) compliance documentation.
  • Develop and implement a means to provide remote system management, administration, and support services from an off-base facility IAW USMC best practices.


Required Skills:


  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
  • US Citizen and must have an active Secret clearance
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in the areas of infrastructure technology operation,hardware / software maintenance and upgrades, and information assuranceprocesses/procedures/tools
  • Experience with some or all of the following technologies:
  • MS Windows Server (Server 2022)
  • Storage Area Networks (Tegile)
  • Virtualized Hardware (VMWare ESXi 7.0.3)
  • Server Hardware (Dell)
  • Network hardware (Cisco and Juniper)
  • Information Assurance (RMF)
  • IAVA Patching (WSUS)
  • STIG Remediation
  • Veeam backup
  • Be able to communicate and execute problem solving activities in a diligent and logical manner from beginning to end, and balance and prioritize tasks
  • Be able and willing to periodically respond to duties or tasks that fall outside their immediate job description
  • Be self-motivated and reliable


Desired Skills:


  • Working knowledge of Marine Corps and/or Army Ranges and Training Areas is helpful. Understanding of USMC policies, procedures, and USMC working/computing environment is helpful.
  • Experience with web applications and web systems support is helpful, however writing and debugging code is not part of this job.
  • Working knowledge of CommVault, Splunk, Oracle, RSA, ESRI, and LaserFiche Records Management is helpful but not required.


Position is contingent upon award.
