Agronomist
Job Description
Join a dynamic RD organization that leads the way in designing, discovering, and developing innovative solutions that benefit farmers and consumers in environmentally friendly ways. As a Brassica Biofuels System Agronomist, you will play a vital role in developing new cropping systems, focusing on water-limited and managed irrigation environments in the western US.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze multi-crop systems-level agronomic trials.
- Develop agronomic recommendations based on research findings.
- Collaborate on research projects with a team of scientists.
- Build and maintain relationships with farmers and agronomists.
- Engage in research collaborations and business partnerships.
Essential Skills
- PhD in agronomy, plant sciences, or MS with 5 years relevant experience.
- Knowledge and in-field experience with multi-crop systems.
- Experience with field research processes, data analysis, and utilization.
- Strong organizational skills for planning and coordinating experiments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for developing strong working relationships.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Research experience with brassica crops and renewable fuels is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and self-directed.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garden City, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $43.00/hr.
