The Global Tax Manager will lead the company's global tax function, overseeing US and international tax compliance, reporting, and planning across all regions in which the company operates. Based onsite at the company's Monroe, Ohio headquarters, this role will partner closely with corporate finance, legal, and regional finance leaders to manage tax risk, ensure compliance with US and foreign tax regulations, and support the company's global growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the company's global tax compliance, including US federal, state, and local income tax filings as well as international tax filings across all jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Oversee preparation and review of the company's global income tax provision (ASC 740) for quarterly and annual financial reporting.
- Develop, implement, and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation to ensure compliance with OECD guidelines and local country regulations.
- Monitor international tax developments, including OECD Pillar Two and BEPS initiatives, and advise leadership on the impact to the company's global tax position.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities across multiple countries to ensure timely, accurate filings and favorable audit outcomes.
- Support tax planning for cross-border transactions, including intercompany financing, repatriation strategies, and legal entity structuring.
- Coordinate indirect tax compliance (VAT, GST, sales and use tax) across the company's global entities.
- Partner with corporate finance, legal, and treasury on tax due diligence, structuring, and integration for mergers and acquisitions.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the global tax function.
- Lead responses to tax audits and inquiries from federal, state, and foreign tax authorities.
- Research and evaluate applicable tax credits and incentives, including R&D tax credits, across global operations.
- Provide guidance to regional finance teams to ensure consistent application of tax policies and controls across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or taxation; CPA, Master's in Taxation, or JD/LLM in Tax preferred.
- At least 7 years of progressive tax experience, including significant exposure to international tax and transfer pricing; public accounting (Big 4) experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740) and US federal and state tax law.
- Working knowledge of international tax concepts, including transfer pricing, VAT/GST, and cross-border transaction structuring.
- Experience working within a multinational manufacturing organization preferred.
- Based onsite at the company's headquarters in Monroe, Ohio.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across global teams and time zones.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
