Job DescriptionLead Instructor Trainer – Aqua-Tots Swim Schools (Lone Tree)

We are seeking a Lead Instructor Trainer to inspire, develop, and lead our swim instructors at our Lone Tree location! This is a leadership role designed for someone who is passionate about water safety, teaching excellence, and team development.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year in aquatics

  • Minimum 1 year in management/leadership

  • Strong passion for water safety and leadership

Role Overview

This is a 25–30 hour per week in-school position (schedule may vary based on school needs). A typical week includes:

  • 1 hour per week participating in ATD AM calls

  • 1–3 shifts teaching swim lessons per week (no more than 3 permanent shifts)

  • 2–4 hours of administrative tasks

  • 5–10 hours of training and conducting instructor assessments (based on demand)

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development

    • Hire, train, assess, coach, and mentor aquatic staff

    • Conduct WSI assessments, co-teaching, and training verification for all new AT-WSI

    • Develop and identify future leaders within the instructor team

    • Schedule and lead monthly in-services and two annual safety in-services following HQ guidelines

  • Staffing & Scheduling

    • Create, maintain, and oversee instructor schedules

    • Manage substitutes and resolve scheduling conflicts

    • Ensure accurate timesheets and payroll verification in WIW

    • Cover shifts if no instructor is available

    • Anticipate staffing needs and ensure all instructors remain certified

  • Curriculum & Lesson Quality

    • Ensure delivery of high-quality lessons that align with Aqua-Tots curriculum

    • Maintain and utilize all curriculum updates from HQ

    • Ensure quality, progression, and consistency of lessons

  • Customer Experience

    • Build strong relationships with families-know their names and their children's names

    • Address concerns promptly, ensuring a win/win resolution

    • Respond to parent concerns about instructor performance within 24 hours

    • Escalate unresolved issues to the General Manager

  • Operations & Safety

    • Collaborate with MIT when providing feedback and implement changes

    • Coordinate pool operations per local State/County Health Department standards

    • Maintain a current AT-MWSI Certification
