Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team. As a PCA, you will provide vital support to adults attending our center by assisting with daily living tasks and encouraging participation in educational and recreational activities.   • Desired Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or above
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Dresses in a professional manner
  • Able to use computer programs and other software related to the classroom
  • Passion for The WOW Center's mission and a commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities

Professional Responsibilities and Duties

1. Personal Care Support

  • Assisting individuals with hygiene: toileting, dressing, etc. as needed.
  • Helping with mobility: walking, transferring from wheelchair to chair, etc.
  • Feeding or assisting during meals.



2. Program Participation

  • Supporting individuals as they engage in educational, vocational, recreational, or life skills training.
  • Encouraging social interaction and communication.
  • Providing individualized assistance based on the persons support plan or goals.
  • Assistinstructor with attendance procedures and follow emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Learn and follow instructorsprogramroutines to enhance the learning environment.
  • Assist and reinforce classroom management strategies set by instructor.



3. Behavioral Support

  • Helping clients manage behaviors in a safe and respectful way.
  • Following individualized behavior support plans.
  • Teaching individuals functional daily living, working, and social skills.
  • Encourage/help individuals toparticipatein classroom activities by actively engaging with individuals.
  • Promoting a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment.



4. Documentation & Communication

  • Recording activities, incidents, or progress on data sheets daily.
  • Keepaccuraterecords of individuals' bathroom and eating habits in case there are any changes or abnormalities that might need tobe addressed.
  • Monitoring health or behavior changes and reporting concerns to supervisors or staff.



5. Safety & Supervision

  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
  • Maintaining awareness during transportation, community events, or center-based activities.
  • Responding to emergencies or accidents according to protocols.

Salary Range

  • The hourly rate for this position is competitive within the market and industry standards at $15 per hour.
