Coho Integrated Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Strength and Conditioning Specialist to provide integrated performance, recovery, and rehabilitation support to military pilots at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in musculoskeletal anatomy of the neck and spine, capable of designing and delivering evidence-based strength and conditioning programs while maintaining health, enhancing resilience, and accelerating recovery from injuries sustained during flight operations. This position is central to sustaining pilot readiness and expanding the unit's holistic strength and conditioning capabilities.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Develop, teach, supervise, and coach physical training sessions in the OHWS Gym on a daily basis for individuals or small groups (up to four pilots).
- Monitor and correct exercise form to ensure proper technique, safety, and achievement of training objectives.
- Design and implement comprehensive strength and conditioning programs focused on enhancing strength, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, speed, agility, coordination, balance, stamina, and accuracy.
- Incorporate barbell training, free weights, bands, bodyweight exercises, gymnastics, and conditioning at varying intensities and durations.
- Conduct initial fitness evaluations within 90 days of contract start, followed by reassessments at least every six months, or more frequently for pilots with ongoing neck or back issues.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, professional ethics standards, Air Force and DoD guidance, and recognized practice standards.
Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Citizenship:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in accordance with federal contract eligibility requirements
- Education
- Minimum bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Science, Physical Education, or a related discipline.
- Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must have one or more of the following professional certifications:
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) – NSCA
- Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Nutrition Coach – NASM
- Certified Master Personal Trainer & Nutritional Consultant – NPTI
- Master or Elite Trainer – ISSA
- Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) – ACSM
- Certified Strength Coach – NCSF
- Certified CrossFit Level 3 Trainer or Level 4 Coach – CrossFit
- Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience working with elite-level athletic populations (e.g., Special Operations Forces, Division I collegiate athletes, Olympic athletes, or professional sports teams).
- Licensure
- Active license or certification in Strength and Conditioning with the State of Maryland.
Position Pay Range$60,000—$90,000 USD
