Title: MPU Design Engineer - Neuromorphic AI Chips
Location: Laguna Hills, CA 92653 (Orange County) - Onsite 3 days per week
Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 + 10% Bonus + Equity + Relocation $$

Our mission is to redefine how AI is processed by building chips that operate more like biological brains leveraging spiking neural networks, custom accelerators & novel processor architectures to deliver real time learning and inference at a fraction of the power of traditional compute. We combine advanced digital design, RISC V based microarchitectures, and FPGA/ASIC development to push the boundaries of edge AI performance. For this MPU Design Engineer position you will play a critical role in architecting, implementing, and verifying the processor subsystems that power their next generation of neuromorphic AI hardware.
What You Will Be Doing
- Translate product requirements into feasible microarchitectures & digital design solutions
- Specify, integrate & implement embedded CPUs particularly RISC V as host processors or coprocessors
- Develop RTL for MPU subsystems and digital functional blocks using Verilog/SystemVerilog
- Build, program & debug FPGA platforms for system level verification & prototyping
- Use simulation and verification tools to validate RTL and gate level functionality
What You Need for this Position
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of digital logic design experience w/ strong understanding of modern compute architectures
- Hands on experience w/ embedded MPU design, ideally RISC V and custom accelerator integration
- Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and familiarity with SoC buses such as AXI, AHB, APB
- Experience w/ SoC interfaces and high speed protocols (SPI, I2C, PCIe, USB, DDR) is a plus
- Strong debugging skills with tools such as VCS, Verdi, or similar
- Python and shell scripting experience for automation and workflow support
