Dorm Supervisor


Salary: $50,000-$55,000 per year

Shifts: 7am-3pm AND 3pm-11pm + weekend availability

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background check, and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required, plus a minimum of two (2) years of combined education and/or relevant experience in human services, behavioral health, social services, or a related field.
  • Individual judgment, discretion, and decision-making skills.
  • Emotionally and physically able to assist in physical escort and/or restraint.
  • Must be able to help carry an ill, injured, or incapacitated student.
  • Must be physically able to assist in AWOL searches in mountainous terrain.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supervise dorm staff and coordinate the activities of the clients at Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Develops, maintains, supervises, and evaluates a trauma-informed program that is safe and secure in which clients can learn cognitively, behaviorally, and emotionally.

· Through interaction and observation of staff and clients, provides supervision, role modeling, teaching, instruction, and support working directly with staff and clients.

o Maintains and manages staff acuity.

o Responsible for safety, supervision and cleanliness of dorm

o Recommends and supports staff with creative, helpful tools for client management and program improvement

o Directs procedures to staff in times of crisis and makes sound decisions.

o Responsible for and actively working towards running a dorm that is safe, clean and has effective supervision of clients

o Follows all training and protocols in response to crisis management, procedural development and MMYTC philosophy

o Provides ongoing supervision to Dorm Coordinator and staff concerning licensing, federal, state and local law, accreditation standards, and policy and procedures pertaining to daily living and client’s overall wellbeing.

o Documents general and specific performance of all Group Living Staff pertaining to that Program Director’s dorm

o Work directly with therapists and other departments to implement successful and effective treatment planning, scheduling, safety plans, etc.

o Ensures staff are current with all training and certifications needed for their position

o Attends weekly or daily meetings within the Group Living Department and communicates all information necessary to subordinates and teammates

o All other duties as assigned
