Role: Field Technician
Location: 5 days onsite in Washington, DC, Atlantic City, NJ or Oklahoma City, OK (must be willing to travel to different sites fairly often say up to 50% travel)
Duration: Direct Hire or Contract to Hire
Citizenship: US Citizen able to obtain FAA public trust
Top Requirements
NOT afraid of heights (must be able to climb to tall locations)
telecommunications experience (climbing towers/installing cables)
Previous experience working with FAA, Air Force or Airports
low-voltage electrical installation
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Move, Add and Change (MAC) work involving network telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices at FAA sites nationwide.
- Perform light construction and electrical work (site preparation work) to support telecommunications infrastructure upgrades.
- Climb towers to install, align, or remove antennas and waveguide (if required).
- Perform small-scale trenching using hand tools and light equipment (e.g., mini-excavators, skid steers, trenchers, drills, compactors).
- Conduct technical site surveys and develop survey reports and support the development of installation plans in coordination with FAA stakeholders.
- Provide technical support for voice-grade, data-comm, digital, and IP telecommunications cutovers.
- Ensure compliance with FAA safety standards and Government telecommunications regulations.
- Maintain and provide detailed documentation of as-built installations, repairs, and site conditions.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in telecommunications, field service, infrastructure installation, or light construction.
- Ability to climb towers and work at heights (if required, must meet safety requirements).
- Proficiency in light construction, trenching, and low voltage (120V and below) electrical installation.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and networking fundamentals.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work in and around critical operational equipment.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the U.S. for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or with a team.
Preferred:
- FAA or federal telecommunications installation experience, especially at remote FAA facilities.
- Experience with microwave, Wireless LTE, VSAT, or VoIP telecommunications.
- Knowledge of FAA communications systems, safety protocols, and regulations.
- Certifications in tower climbing safety, fiber optics, or network systems.
- A journeyman electricians license.

- Must be eligible to obtain necessary FAA suitability/public trust clearance.
- Clean driving record required.
- Significant nationwide travel required.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied weather and terrain conditions.
