The Network Engineer Consultant is responsible for supporting and enhancing enterprise network operations within a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment. This role involves managing complex network infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance, maintaining security compliance, and providing advanced troubleshooting and technical leadership with minimal supervision.
Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Operations & Administration
- Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructure components
- Manage and support enterprise networks including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability
Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues across multiple platforms
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Support a voice-integrated and multi-vendor network environment
Network Design & Implementation
- Contribute to network architecture, design, and implementation
- Maintain and update network diagrams and technical documentation
- Implement changes and enhancements to improve network efficiency
Security & Compliance
- Enforce cybersecurity best practices and ensure network security compliance
- Manage firewall configurations and security tools
- Monitor and improve secure connectivity and system integrity
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Work closely with cross-functional technical teams in a fast-paced environment
- Provide knowledge transfer, guidance, and informal training to team members
- Support multiple concurrent tasks and projects
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience with:
- Cisco firewalls
- Cisco routers
- Cisco switches
- Cisco VPN
- Cisco network administration
- 5+ years of experience with:
- Palo Alto firewalls
- Palo Alto XDR
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience with network monitoring and tracing tools
- Strong expertise in core network architecture
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in routing and switching
- Experience with wireless networks (4+ years)
- Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure (3+ years)
Preferred Certifications
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
