Digital Consultants is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer with strong systems and network engineering experience to support Counter-UAS and traditional Airspace Security networks and systems for a sponsor in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate is a hands-on practitioner with deep technical expertise in configuring, securing, and managing critical infrastructure in high-security environments.
Duties to include:
- Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco switches, routers, and Microsoft Windows servers/workstations following evolving mission requirements.
- Implement cybersecurity measures that ensure continuous, secure, and resilient operations across enterprise and tactical environments.
- Maintain network components and proactively identify vulnerabilities through diagnostics and remediation planning.
- Collaborate with system administrators, analysts, and government technicians to support system-related problem-solving and future enhancement needs.
- Lead cybersecurity implementation activities related to securing systems under the Federal ATO process, ensuring proper controls are in place and compliance is sustained.
- Contribute to work plan development, project execution, and delivery of technical consulting outputs.
- Support government-led cybersecurity investigations and reporting by rapidly restoring protections and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for cybersecurity engineering and system administration practices.
Requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science or equivalent
- Clearance: Top Secret/SCI
- Certifications: IAT Level III Certification
Experience:
- Ten (10) years of experience implementing and maintaining cybersecurity control requirements, including system hardening, vulnerability assessment, and incident response.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco network infrastructure, Windows OS environments, and cybersecurity compliance processes (e.g., ATO).
- Proven ability to analyze complex system and network challenges and deliver practical, secure solutions.
- Experience may include plan, implement, upgrade, and/or monitor cybersecurity measures to improve cyber defense and maintain a cyber-resilient network; assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities for risks and propose and implement remediation actions or risk mitigation strategies; ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and electronic infrastructure; and respond to computer security breaches to re-establish protections and make required reports.
Compensation and Benefits: The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $190,000.
