The Company Manager is a complex, multifaceted management role where creativity and exquisite communication chops are the key to success. They are the kind of person who loves getting ship done for others and providing the necessary creature comforts to make life at sea a fantastic experience for all. Sure, they are the first line of defense in getting that pesky cruise ship toilet fixed, but they also are the first point of contact for excited new entertainment crew members and guest artists, waving to them as they board the gangway and also seeing them off at the end of their contract as they chart new courses for adventure. Your enduring support of the entire entertainment crew will ensure our team of more than one hundred epic human beings is able to thrive in activating the uniquely Virgin experiences that we’re creating for our sailors.


What You'll Be Up To:

  • Manage the onboard casts, musicians and DJs.
  • Oversee the general and logistical needs of direct reports.
  • Lead sign-on and sign-off of direct reports and supernumeraries (guest artists), working with the onboard crew/sailor services department.
  • Ensure training is up to date for direct reports.
  • Field and action maintenance requests for direct reports.
  • Be on call to assist with medical or safety emergencies for direct reports.
  • Oversee direct reports crew perks and ensure their compliance with all rules and regulations
  • Audit and submit direct reports of work hours to people and culture, as needed.
  • Audit company accounts used by casts, musicians, DJ’s and supernumeraries (guest artists) to ensure proper usage.
  • Assist / back up with the Virgin digital scheduling tool of events and work hours. (GO & MXP)
  • Lead the development and execution of entertainment crew special events (birthdays, etc.) in partnership with other entertainment leaders.
  • Write and conduct evaluations for direct reports in collaboration with the Production Stage Managers
  • Actively address the concerns and needs of their direct reports
  • Manage supernumerary merchandise sales and settlement
  • Assist the box office manager with show and event seating


Superpowers Required:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a theatrical company manager
  • Experience in conflict management and resolution a must
  • Basic accounting skills are required
  • Demonstrated experience in motivating, leading and engaging a diverse workforce
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle several operations at once
  • Strong knowledge of key business tools (MS Office, Google Apps, etc.)
  • Able to work in loud, disruptive spaces
  • Ability to work outside in the sun
  • Must have an outgoing personality with excellent communication, language and social skills with a genuine interest in entertaining people
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • A self-starter, who can roll up their sleeves and make ship happen with little supervision
  • Great energy and attitude of optimism
  • Ability to move mountains without relying on others to do the heavy lifting
  • Cruise ship experience is an asset, but not required
  • Work experience outside of the United States, in cross cultural settings, preferred
  • Conversational English ability is required
  • SWTC training required
