Job Description
Job DescriptionDescription:
Keep conveyor systems running. Be the expert our customers rely on.
Are you a hands-on problem solver who thrives in the field, enjoys working directly with customers, and takes pride in keeping critical equipment running? Belt Power is looking for a Field Service Technician who is passionate about maintenance, repair, and service of conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
This is not a bench job — it’s a customer-facing role where you’ll be trusted to support maintenance teams, solve real problems, and represent Belt Power on-site.
What you'll be doing
- Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and service on conveyor systems, material handling systems, and other customer mechanical equipment.
- Provide contract maintenance support services, including working side-by-side with customer maintenance crews — sometimes for days at a time.
- Support preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance to minimize downtime and keep operations moving.
- Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues and deliver safe, effective solutions.
- Perform conveyor belt fabrication, splicing, vulcanizing, and repairs as needed.
- Travel to customer sites for single-day service calls or extended on-site support (overnight and out-of-state travel included).
- Work closely with customers, Sales, and Operations to align on scope, timelines, and expectations.
- Document service work clearly and accurately.
- Represent Belt Power professionally while living out our core values every day.
Requirements:
What we're looking for
- 1+ year of hands-on experience in maintenance, mechanical service, field service, or an industrial environment (more experience welcomed).
- Experience, certification, or strong aptitude in:
- Mechanical systems
- Welding
- Electrical systems
- A customer-first mindset — you enjoy being the face of the company and building trust on-site.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments and integrating with customer maintenance teams.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, safety-focused approach.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights, and in confined spaces.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Why you'll love working at Belt Power
- Be part of a national leader in conveyor and material handling solutions.
- Work on real-world equipment that keeps customers’ operations running.
- Variety in your work — no two days or customer sites are the same.
- Opportunity to grow your skills across mechanical, welding, and electrical systems.
- Strong safety culture, team support, and respect for craftsmanship.
- A role where your work is seen, valued, and relied upon.
