Meadow Breeze Day Camp is looking to fill positions for our 8-week summer camp programs, grades Kindergarten to 11th grade. LCA is a grade 6-12 independent Christian school located in Lexington, MA. Since 1966, Meadow Breeze Day Camp at LCA has been offering an exceptional traditional day camp for kids of all ages.
As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and enriching experience for campers. This position requires enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine interest in the well-being and personal development of children. Camp Counselors serve as mentors, role models, and facilitators of fun, fostering a supportive community within the camp environment.
Responsibilities:

Camper Supervision:
-
Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during all camp activities, including outdoor activities, meals, and recreational periods.

Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes positive social interactions among campers.

Activity Participation:
-
Assist in participating/facilitating various camp activities, such as games, arts and crafts, sports, and team-building exercises.

Encourage campers to actively participate and engage in activities.

Mentorship:
-
Serve as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating qualities of responsibility, respect, and cooperation.

Provide guidance and support to campers in navigating social situations and problem-solving.

Leadership:

Assist the Head Counselor with the daily routine and well-being of campers within assigned cabins or groups.

Foster a sense of community and camaraderie among cabin members.

Safety and Emergency Response:

Be familiar with and adhere to all camp safety protocols.

Respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies and follow established procedures.

Communication:

Establish open communication with co-workers and camp leadership.

Positive Reinforcement:

Recognize and celebrate campers' achievements and positive behavior.

Encourage a positive atmosphere where campers feel valued and supported.

Qualifications:

Ability to work collaboratively with fellow counselors and camp leadership.

Previous experience in a camp setting or working with children is desirable.
Requirements:

Minimum 18 years of age or older
-
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification (recommended)

Complete a CORI background check

Attend all training sessions

LOCATION: Main Campus - 48 Bartlett Ave Lexington, MA 02420
DATES: June 22-August 14, 2025, Mon-Fri
TIME: Day camps run every week day from 8:00AM-3:00PM and AfterCamp runs every week day from 3:30PM-5:30PM
PAY: Seasonal, $16-$19/hr based on experience
SCHEDULE: Camp training & orientation is June 15th & June 16th, 2026. Apart from our specialty camps, staff are asked to work a majority of the 8 weeks of camp. There is no camp on July 3rd due to the 4th of July holiday weekend. Camp staff need to arrive each day at 7:30AM and are expected to stay until 3:30PM, unless working AfterCamp.
