What You'll Do
- Provide direct clinical support to providers during patient visits.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories, vital signs, medication lists, and allergy information.
- Assist with examinations and procedures, including wound care, injections, EKGs, blood draws, GYN exams, specimen collection, and other clinical services within your scope of practice.
- Administer medications and maintain medication sample inventory.
- Collect, process, and perform routine laboratory testing.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms while ensuring equipment is properly maintained and supplies remain current.
- Assist with patient communication, medication refill requests, referrals, scheduling, and follow-up care.
- Track immunizations and assist with vaccine inventory.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and PHC policies and procedures.
- Support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) initiatives and chronic disease management.
Qualifications
Medical Assistant
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification or diploma required.
- Clinical experience preferred.
Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current Georgia LPN license required.
- Previous medical office or outpatient experience preferred.
