Position Summary:
Order, sort & stock merchandise and provide customer services.
Essential Job Functions:
· Stock Grocery items in a safe, neat, efficient, orderly manner.
· Check product freshness dates; make sure merchandise is properly rotated.
· Help keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers clean and well organized.
· Order products for assigned sections to insure proper inventory levels.
· Keep carts, jacks, and supplies in their designated areas.
· Unload trucks and prepare merchandise for stocking.
· Handle damaged products in accordance with store policies & procedures.
· Maintain clean shelving and displays.
· Maintain appropriate signage and shelf tags.
· Face or block shelving as it is stocked or as instructed.
· Provide courteous customer and associate relations.
· Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
· Greet customers and assist them in finding products.
· Able to communicate with customers and associates.
· Assist in carrying out groceries or checking as needed.
· Help increase store sales and profits.
· Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
· Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
· Adhere to company policies & procedures, particularly in the areas of dress code, grooming, sanitation, and maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
· Perform any and all duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
· Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed
· Effective written and oral communication skills.
· Able to calmly, courteously, and tactfully handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
· Must be able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, bulletins, etc.
· Available and able to perform stock clerk duties and customer service duties as scheduled or assigned.
· Qualified and able to operate power machinery and work with various job tools (box cutters, label guns, balers, compactors, jacks, etc.)

· Previous work record reflects dependability and integrity.
Physical Demands:
· Standing & Walking – Frequent standing & walking. Estimated total time 7.5 hrs. Maximum continuous time up to 4 hrs.
· Sitting – Rarely required. Estimated total time 30 mins. Maximum continuous time 30 mins.
· Lifting & Carrying – Max weight 135 lbs., average weight 25 lbs., distance carried 1-5 feet. Must frequently lift items under 10 lbs. and items between 11-25 lbs., occasionally lift items 26-100 lbs., and rarely lift over 100 lbs.
· Pushing and Pulling –Frequent pushing or pulling pallet jacks, grocery carts, flatbed carts, U-boats throughout the store.
· Other – This position also requires frequent bending, squatting, and kneeling, as well as constant use of either arm or both for reaching in all directions. Other requirements include twisting, neck flexion/extension, cervical rotation, high grip strength, frequent forearm movement, and frequent or sustained awkward wrist positions.
· Work Conditions – Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, sudden changes in temperature, cramped quarters, sharp edges & hammering or impact tools.
