A restaurant cashier operates a cash register, communicates with customers, and assists other restaurant staff as needed. Responsibilities in this career can include processing credit card payments, accepting cash payments and making change, and using a point of sale (POS) system for transactions. Restaurant cashier duties also involve greeting guests, helping resolve customer complaints, and maintaining knowledge of the menu and sales policies. Experience in food service or retail is helpful, and basic math, customer service, and communication skills are essential.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food Handling and customer service within a restaurant environment
- Able to effectively multi-task and keep track of multiple food items.
- Knowledge of POS systems and sending food back to the kitchen.
- Ability to read a KDS (Kitchen Display System) and verifying the kitchen is handing you the correct items for the correct orders.
- Being able to prioritize tickets in order needed.
- Background in the food industry.
- Experience in catering and plating.
- Following food safety regulations.
Shift Expectations and responsibilities.
- Greet guest with smile and be helpful with any questions they may have about the menu.
- Make sure the entire takeout room is clean for guest to sit in and enjoy.
- Take orders with guest in the building and ensuring the order is handed out correctly with any required condiments.
- Sweep, mop, wipe down, clean & sanitize work stations.
- Restocking items as needed in the takeout room.
- Follow Health department protocols.
Stores Hours of Operations
Monday through Saturday 11:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.
Sunday 12:00 - 6:00 P.M.
SHIFTS MAY START AS EARLY AS 11:30 A.M. AND MAY END AROUND 6:30 P.M.
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 year Counter service/Cashier (Preferred), but not required
- 1 year Kitchen (Preferred), but not required
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma (Preferred)
