The Director of Nursing (DON) at a PPEC facility is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all nursing and patient care services. This position ensures high-quality care for medically complex children in a day health setting, aligning with the facility’s mission and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management

Participate in strategic planning and policy development as part of the PPEC management team.

Supervise nursing staff, ensuring optimal performance, recruitment, retention, and professional development.

Serve as a spokesperson for nursing matters within the organization and to external stakeholders.
Clinical Oversight

Define and uphold standards of nursing practice.

Assess and monitor the quality of care provided to patients.

Verify staff credentials and ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.
Administrative Duties

Develop and manage budgets related to staffing and services.

Evaluate cost-effectiveness and quality of nursing services.

Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to enhance patient care and staff training.
Quality Improvement

Support and encourage research and improvement initiatives.

Participate in internal committees and meetings to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Abilities:

Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Deep understanding of nursing management and healthcare regulations.

Proficiency in financial and resource management.

Knowledge of health law, statistics, and research methodologies.
Education & Experience:

Current Florida RN license.
-
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a nursing environment, preferably pediatric or PPEC-related.

PEDIATRIC EXPERIENCE work setting required 2 year's experience
Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and move for prolonged periods.

Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
