Heavy Duty Diesel & Hydraulic Mechanic
Location: Allegany, NY
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $23.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel & Hydraulic Mechanic to join our team in Allegany, NY. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and maintaining heavy diesel-powered and hydraulic equipment. Work is primarily performed in our shop, with occasional field service at job sites.
This role is ideal for a mechanic who is confident troubleshooting complex hydraulic and diesel systems and takes pride in producing high-quality, safe repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and major repairs on heavy diesel engines and equipment
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Overhaul engines, transmissions, and hydraulic components
- Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Perform welding and light fabrication as needed
- Maintain accurate service documentation
- Travel to job sites for field repairs when required
- Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times
Equipment Serviced
Drilling rigs, telehandlers, mud pumps, power swivel units, heavy trucks, trailers, and other hydraulic-powered industrial equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or Hydraulic Mechanic
- Strong hands-on hydraulic troubleshooting experience
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues independently
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; up to 100 lbs with assistance
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
