One of our companies is currently looking for a Senior Analyst, Financial Systems in Virginia.
This role plays a vital part in supporting and enhancing enterprise-wide financial systems that enable core reporting, forecasting, and planning functions. The Senior Analyst will manage and maintain financial applications—primarily Hyperion Planning and Essbase—while ensuring data integrity, efficient reporting, and seamless end-user experiences. This is a cross-functional role that works closely with teams in Accounting, Corporate FP&A, Tax, and Finance, making communication and problem-solving skills essential. The ideal candidate is both technically proficient and business-savvy, with a passion for driving process improvements and enabling better financial decision-making through data.
Accountabilities:
- Administer and maintain Hyperion Planning and Essbase applications across development and production environments.
- Oversee system performance, data loads, business rules, scripts, and reports to support efficient month-end and forecasting activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, while keeping stakeholders informed and prioritizing issue resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, identify opportunities for automation, and enhance system capabilities.
- Document technical processes and develop user guides and training materials for end users.
- Maintain user access controls and ensure compliance with company security protocols.
- Participate in the implementation and enhancement of financial systems, offering strategic input into system design and integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience with Hyperion Planning and/or Essbase in a professional setting.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and data analysis (P&L, Balance Sheet).
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in PowerPoint and Word.
- Ability to manage sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
- Experience in global enterprise environments and prior exposure to major Oracle or Hyperion implementations is preferred.
