JOB SUMMARY
The duties of the Pediatrician position include, but are not limited to, providing diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients ranging in age from infant through adolescent, proper maintenance of records, and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Perform histories, physicals and prescribing a diagnostic, education, preventive and/or treatment plan within the standards of accepted medical practice
Perform and/or order labs, diagnostic procedures, and making appropriate referrals as necessary
Maintain patient records
Adhere to proper charting protocols
Coordinate continuity of medical care for patients
Promote health by advising patients on diet, hygiene and prevention of disease
Inoculate and vaccinate as required
Perform minor surgery as necessary
Report deaths and contagious diseases to governmental authorities
Other responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Doctoral degree, either M.D. or D.O., in medicine
Minimum of 5 years' experience
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a clinical environment
Must have and maintain current New Mexico License in good standing
Must have and maintain a current DEA License in good standing
Board Certification

Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skills

Ability to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare
Ability to work under pressure
Computer literacy
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience using an electronic medical records system
Bilingual a plus, but not required
RELATIONSHIP REPORTING
Reports to the Chief of Staff / Interim CEO
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Communicate effectively with patients and staff
Be able to sit, stand or view a computer screen for extended periods of time
Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time
Be able to use hand and fingers to handle or feel
Be able to reach with hands and arms
