The Data Engineering Specialist designs and develops scalable data models and architectures to support IRS data platform initiatives. This role ensures accurate data representation and integration into a secure enterprise data lake environment for analytics and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Develop logical and physical data models across assigned data domains.
- Design scalable schemas for structured and unstructured data.
- Collaborate with pipeline developers and analytics teams.
- Apply metadata, lineage, and data catalog management best practices.
- Ensure compliance with IRS data security and architecture standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in enterprise data modeling for large organizations.
- Experience building models in data lake environments.
- Knowledge of IRS data and compliance standards is a plus.
- Databricks, AWS RDS/Postgres, Redshift
- MongoDB, DynamoDB, Informatica EDC, Axon
- Data Modeling Tools (ER/Studio, IBM Data Architect)
- SQL, Python, JSON
