Inside Sales / Commercial Estimating
Direct Hire | Full-Time
Starting Salary: Approximately $45,000/year + future commission opportunity
A local commercial door and building products company is seeking an Inside Sales / Commercial Estimating professional to join its team. This position will work with commercial construction projects involving doors, frames, hardware, bathroom partitions, and related products.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, solid math and computer skills, and the ability to learn how to read construction plans and specifications. Previous experience with blueprints, estimating, commercial construction, building materials, or inside sales is a plus, but the company is open to training someone with the right aptitude and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine material requirements
- Learn to read and interpret commercial construction blueprints
- Prepare quotes and estimates for doors, frames, hardware, bathroom partitions, and related products
- Assist with preparing and submitting bids for commercial projects
- Communicate with contractors, customers, vendors, and internal team members regarding pricing, specifications, and project requirements
- Obtain pricing and product information as needed to complete estimates
- Maintain accurate records of quotes, bids, customer information, and project details
- Follow up on quotes and assist customers throughout the sales process
- Develop product knowledge and an understanding of commercial construction requirements
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with measurements, numbers, and pricing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn estimating and industry-specific software
- Ability and willingness to learn blueprint reading, commercial estimating, and product specifications
- Previous experience in inside sales, estimating, construction, building materials, architectural products, or a related field is preferred but not required
- Blueprint reading experience is a strong plus
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Compensation
The position is expected to begin at approximately $45,000 annually. Compensation may be adjusted as the employee develops proficiency in the position, and a commission structure is expected to be established based on performance and responsibilities.
