Summary/Objective
Guidepost is seeking a highly experienced data governance expert to lead, develop, manage, and monitor large data / information governance (“DG”) programs for our clients. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in DG and related fields and will be adept at overseeing, managing, and developing robust data governance structures, policies, and procedures. They likely will oversee staff and be responsible for overall project management and execution. This position is based out of our Washington DC office in the Technology Advisory Services Practice.
Job Duties
- Performing day-to-day engagement activities including interaction with client personnel, internal team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
- Develop, assess, and oversee DG by leading the creation and implementation of clients’ DG framework, including policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assesses DG framework by evaluating the completeness, consistency, effectiveness, and timeliness compared to relative peers including (complexity and risk profile).
- Monitor and recommend improvements by reviewing existing DG structures and make recommendations for enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including transaction monitoring and information sharing obligations.
- Identify and define roles and responsibilities of relevant stakeholders, maintaining personnel with requisite subject matter expertise.
- Familiarity in e-discovery work and demonstrate flexibility to adapt to various data governance needs and challenges.
- Preparing drafts of written analyses and reports for third parties on the project scope and/or results of activities.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or Juris Doctorate degree: Computer Science, Management Information Systems, , Business Administration or equivalent
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a consulting environment building or enhancing DG programs
- Strong understanding of the litigation, compliance, investigative process, and monitorship experience
- Ability to define and evaluate scope of projects, develop work plans, manage teams in the execution, report findings, and fully document analyses
- Superior interpersonal, communication, and technical skills
- Professional experience with an understanding of or experience with comparable eDiscovery or DG tools
- Strong attention to detail
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages employees of the department as assigned and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This position requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel
Travel out-of-area to other regional offices and overnight travel is expected.

Salary Range
The base annual salary range offered for this position is based on numerous factors, including job-related skills and knowledge, experience, specific location, relevant education and/or training. In addition to the annual salary, we offer a full benefits package.
