Special Education Teacher (Mod/Severe/ESN) – Santa Monica, CA

Position Details:

  • Discipline: Special Education (Mod/Severe/ESN)
  • Dates: August 17, 2026 – June 9, 2027
  • Schedule: Full-Time
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 37.5 hours per week
  • Caseload: Elementary position supporting approximately 10 students with several instructional assistants/paras in the classroom
  • Additional Opportunity: High school position working with medically fragile students

Special Education Teacher Job Description:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Support students with academic, functional, communication, behavioral, and individualized needs
  • Collaborate with instructional assistants, related service providers, families, and school staff
  • Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education requirements

Pay & Benefits:

Requirements:

  • Active California Extensive Support Needs (ESN) or Moderate/Severe Special Education Credential (required)

Interview Process:

  • 10–15 minute screening call with a Spindle recruiter
  • 20–30 minute virtual interview with the district
