Special Education Teacher (Mod/Severe/ESN) – Santa Monica, CA
Seeking a new opportunity within a school district? Spindle proudly collaborates with an outstanding school district in Santa Monica, CA in search of a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join their team for the 2026–2027 school year!
Position Details:
- Discipline: Special Education (Mod/Severe/ESN)
- Dates: August 17, 2026 – June 9, 2027
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 37.5 hours per week
- Caseload: Elementary position supporting approximately 10 students with several instructional assistants/paras in the classroom
- Additional Opportunity: High school position working with medically fragile students
Special Education Teacher Job Description:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support students with academic, functional, communication, behavioral, and individualized needs
- Collaborate with instructional assistants, related service providers, families, and school staff
- Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with special education requirements
Pay & Benefits:

Requirements:
- Active California Extensive Support Needs (ESN) or Moderate/Severe Special Education Credential (required)

Interview Process:
- 10–15 minute screening call with a Spindle recruiter
