Job Summary
The Senior Project Risk Manager is responsible for identifying risks, planning responses, and executing mitigation activities across initiatives spanning multiple functional areas and geographically spread locations. The Senior Project Risk Manager will also create and manage reports, communication, and documentation relating to their job role.
At HP Hood, the Senior Project Risk Manager will report to the head of the IT PMO and work closely with members of the IT department, Process Improvement department, business teams, C-Suite, and external vendors to define, schedule, and manage deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as focal contact for risk management activities and communication; track, update, and communicate status of risks pertaining to assigned initiatives. Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in our work management tool, Wrike.
- With guidance from IT leadership and PMO members, learn our current risk and decision management strategy. Identify process weaknesses and areas for improvement. Make recommendations and build out workflows to support new processes and train users.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessment across project phases (design, build, test, etc.) and impacted functional areas (procurement, manufacturing, logistics, etc.). Recommend mitigation tactics. Obtain buy-in and implement remediation plans.
- Conduct regular reviews of our risk identification and management practices to ensure compliance with policies and alignment with best practices.
- Drive high-impact workshops that shape project direction and stakeholder alignment; empower and upskill team members by modeling and coaching advanced facilitation techniques.
- Master the ins and outs of our project management tool, Wrike, to function as an expert; learn other tools as needed. Provide set up assistance and training to other users as assigned. Coach others daily on the use of our tools, understanding that adapting to a new tool may be difficult for some users. Practice patience, respect, and understanding. Review tools regularly for accuracy and make/request updates from users as needed.
- Follow Lean-Agile methodologies and coach project teams on the use of them.
- Continue professional development in risk management, Lean-Agile, and business and technical areas to keep up to date with industry developments and company changes.
- Travel as needed to gather information and successfully mitigate risks at company locations. Travel will be sporadic and may include periods of up to 25% travel mixed with periods of no travel. Activities may occur during non-peak business hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned by IT and PMO leadership.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- BS/BA degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5+ years of experience independently managing medium to high complexity technical projects, with 2+ years in a PMO leadership or risk management role.
- Demonstrable experience with identifying, mitigating, and communicating substantial project risks to C-Suite executives.
- Experience leading project risk management in multi-site implementations, coordinating cross-functional teams across IT and operations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with Wrike and SharePoint, or equivalent platforms.
- Familiarity with end-to-end business processes involving inventory, production planning, quality, and warehouse execution.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint & Excel.
- A "can do" attitude and a positive approach to working with others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with an ability to build strong collaborative relationships across departmental boundaries.
- Self-directed, results-oriented, and comfortable working with a diverse set of stakeholders.
- Able to learn independently via video tutorials and willing to engage with external vendors as needed.
Able to actively listen and respond well to evolving priorities. No two days are alike in a PMO
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location.
The pay range for this position is$123,000—$162,000 USD
