APEX Placement & Consulting has partnered with a manufacturing organization in Springdale, AR, looking to add a Welder to its team. This direct-hire opportunity offers first-shift hours with a 5:00 a.m. start time.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, sketches, and specifications to plan assembly and welding work.
  • Lay out, position, and align components using tape measures, squares, protractors, and other measuring tools.
  • Prepare joints and perform MIG/GMAW welding according to welding procedure specifications and fabrication drawings.
  • Operate welding equipment, hand and power tools, grinders, and cutting equipment.
  • Follow proper assembly and welding sequences to maintain dimensions and minimize distortion.
  • Inspect components and welds visually and dimensionally to ensure they meet quality requirements.
  • Clean welds and surrounding areas, removing spatter, slag, and other residue.
  • Label materials with job numbers, piece marks, and other required information.
  • Move materials and finished products manually or with hoists and cranes.
  • Maintain accurate production records and promptly report equipment issues.
  • Follow safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Cross-train and support other production tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Basic MIG/GMAW welding skills, with up to one year of hands-on welding experience or completion of an associate degree in welding.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings and interpret welding symbols.
  • Ability to use common welding measurement tools and perform basic math calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn additional production tasks and contribute ideas for improvement.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work in a manufacturing environment that can be loud and is not temperature-controlled, with potential exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach.
  • Lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 55 pounds.
  • Work around machinery, moving equipment, and vehicles.
  • Wear required PPE, including a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
