Offset Plate Maker
Are you a mechanically minded individual with a background in technical assembly or chemistry? We are seeking a dedicated Offset Plate/Cylinder Manufacturer to join our client’s production team. This is a "ground-floor" opportunity where you will start by mastering image comprehension and plate processing before advancing into specialized manufacturing tasks. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently within the plant while maintaining clear communication with external resources to keep production moving.

Employment Term –Temp to hire
Employment Type –Full time
Work Hours (Shift) – Training on 1st shift and will go to 2nd shift
Starting Pay –$18 to $19/hr
Required Experience –At least 2 years of experience
Responsibilities
- Plate & Cylinder Preparation: Load and unload materials to bend plates of all sizes for the press; perform cylinder stripping and Ballard shell removal.
- Quality Control: Inspect plates and cylinders meticulously for quality and adherence to specifications.
- Inventory & Logistics: Use automated Work in Progress (W.I.P.) and Long Term Storage (LTS) systems, including overhead cranes, to store and retrieve gravure cylinders.
- Digital Tracking: Use "Smart tools" to track and move job components through the production workflow.
- Area Maintenance: Maintain high standards of "6S" (General cleanup and organization) of the production area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
Qualifications
- Experience: A background in mechanical assembly, chemistry, or technical manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (equivalent experience will be considered).
- Communication: Basic ability to speak, read, and comprehend English is required.
- Safety First: Must strictly adhere to all departmental safety rules and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Independence: Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while collaborating with the wider team.
